"Balar Chithirai Kalai Vizha 2019" - 17th Year Prize Distribution

The Mylapore Trio, Sugathan and Members of Sri Sumukhi Rajasekharan Memorial Foundation conducted the Valediction of 17th “Balar Chithirai Kalai Vizha” on Sunday, 30th June 2019 at Vivekananda Hall (AC), P.S. Hr. Sec. School premises, Mylapore.

Dr. Vidya Sainath Ph.D was the Chief Guest for the Function and distributed Certificates, Medals and Prizes to all the Children. She is a Mylaporean, has done her Doctorate in Advaita Philosophy in Madras University. She is also a Veena player, Painter, Dancer and Scholor & Speaker in Sanskrit and Tamil. She happens to be a relative of the Mylapore Trio.

      She praised “The Mylapore Trio” and Sugathan for their untiring efforts to promote Thamizh Culture and Tradition and to inculcate its essence to the next generation for most of whom Tamil is alien, though it is their Mother Tongue. The Trio and Sugathan honoured her appropriately by presenting her a memorabilia.

      Earlier Amarnath welcomed the Chief Guest, Parents and Children. Surendranath reminiscenced the Trio’s association with Dr. Vidya Sainath. Finally the most awaited Prize Distribution session took place. Aparna took over the stage and read the list of the Names of the Participants and their Prizes and duly greeted the Children. Around 80 children from Pre-Kg to Undergraduate level, who had participated in nearly 20 Competitions categorized under Performing Arts, Fine Arts and Academic Arts - decked up in gorgeous Traditional Attire lined up and received their Certificates, Prizes and Medals from the Chief Guest. The specialty of Our Foundation is all the Children both the Prize Winners and the non-prize winners are appropriately recognized on stage without any discrimination what so ever.

There were around 200 and odd audience including the Children and Parents. It was a memorable evening of 2 hours duration, which was a red-letter day for many children and their parents to see their ward receiving Cups, Medals and Certificates - an Honour on Stage, and for us it was a great Children’s Festival.
