The Mylapore Trio - Amarnath Surendranath Aparna Performed "KANAKABHISHEKAM" with 108 Gold Coins and also with Gold, Silver, Copper lacquered Flowers to their Foster Parents Sri. Rajasekharan & Smt. Sumukhi to Commemorate their 70th Wedding Day 27.10.2022 at "SUMUKHAM MANDAPAM". It was a Childhood Dream Come True, Vow Accomplished, Promise Fulfilled for the Trio. A 15 daylong Celebration from 25th October to 8th November was organised.

The Deified Couple - Sumukhi Rajasekharan

Sri. Rajasekharan, M.A., (Eng. Lit. & Pol. Sci.) A Great Freedom Fighter under Rajaji., who wore only Khadher Veshti and Kurtha till his last breath. He was the Proprietor of Vindhya Publications, Chennai.

Smt. Sumukhi, B.A., B.Sc., L.T. An Outstanding Teacher, Asst. Headmistress – Lady Sivaswami Ayyar Girls' High School, Mylapore. Principal In Charge – Besant Arundale Sr. Sec. School, Kalakshetra. (A Close Associate of Smt. Rukmini Devi, Kalakshetra).

The Deified Couple were An Embodiment of Love & Kindness, Service & Sacrifice, Simplicity & Nobility, Knowledge & Wisdom, Philosophy & Spirituality. They were “Philanthropists Par Excellence” in Mylapore who Sculpted Human Lives & Nurtured Needy Families for Generations, Beyond Caste & Creed.

70th Wedding Day Celebration - 2022.

“KANAKABHISHEKAM” is Trio’s Humble Act of Gratefulness, Symbol of Gratitude. Earnest Gesture to Exhibit their Everlasting Indebtedness to the Great Souls during their 70th Wedding Day.

On this Historic Occasion, Kanakabhishekam was also performed to the Grand Mother of The Trio Smt. R. NAGAMMAL for Her Self Sacrifice, who took Asylum under the Caring Wings of the Benevolent Couple.

Trio Remembered Susheela, Shanta, Devaki who were the Fostered Daughters of the Generous Couple and also Sanjeevi.

"Sumukham Mandapam" Spectacularly Decorated

The Centre of the Huge Sumukham Hall was aesthetically decorated with 4 Pillared Mandapam and a Vidhaanam tied with Vaazhai Marams, colourful Kodai Jaalraas and colourful big and small Silk Thombais. A Gold coated Gopura Kalasam was placed on top of the Mandapam. Two huge 5' Brass Annam Kuthuvilakku were displayed on either side of the Mandapam. The 3 layered dais was draped with New Silk Sarees of Traditional Colours of Red, Green, Yellow. Sumukhi Rakajasekharan's huge picture was Decorated with a big colourful Prabhavali or Thiruvaachi for the 70th Wedding Day and the Pictures of the Smt. Nagammal and others were placed underneath. The Pictures of Amma Appa's 50th and 60 Wedding Days along with their respective Gold Pendants were also placed under the Vidhaanam. Small Silver Vigraham of Thiruthani Lord Murugan with Valli Deivayanai was placed at the Mandapam.

Kanakabhishekam Performed - A Great Virtuous Honour

Amar, Suren Aparna Performed "Kanakabhishekam" to the gorgeous Standing image of Sumukhi Rajasekharan which was grandly decorated on a 3 storied pedestal along with the picture of Smt. Nagammal at their feet. Bust Photos of Susheela, Shanta, Devaki and Sanjeevi were also placed below her. Kanakabhishekam was Duly Performed to Appa and Amma with 108 Gold Coins (small) bought by the Trio through Righteous Means. Their Hard Earned Resources and Life Savings were used for the Historic Kanakabhishekam. It is not just a milligram of Gold but it is Trio's Every Drop of Blood and Sweat. Apart from this 108 Gold, Silver, Copper lacquered small flowers (each 108) were also showered on Eternal Couple. A very Great Punyam and Bhaagyam indeed to perform this Divine Event for the Great Souls who left their mortal coils decades ago. Planning and Preparations for the Sanctified Event were started many years back the Trio.

Mylapore Trio's Life Time Dream Accomplished

Kanakabhiskhekam is a very Unusual and a Unique Symbolic Act of Gratitude of the Trio to remember Sumukhi Rajasekharan who had chiselled their lives along with innumerable people without caste and creed.

Amarnath of the Mylapore Trio conceived the very Thought and Idea of Kanakabhishekam to the Deified Couple during Trio's Childhood days and had told Sumukhi Amma about it many times. But Appa and Amma never had an iota of Wish nor Expectation for any kind of Gratitude or glorification by Others. Their Life was Destined Only to Give for Others and Not to take back Anything in Return, which They did to Their fullest means and satisfaction. Though Kanakabhishekam was a Distant Dream and an Utopian Thinking at that point of time, The Trio was able to do it with Amma Appa's Grace otherwise it would not have been possible at all in their life time. It was "Avargal Arulaale Avargalukku Kanankabhishekam".

Surenendranath of The Mylapore Trio designed 2 Small Diamond Studded Pendants which were Engraved and Embossed with Lord Muruga's VEL and KODI for Sumukhi and Rajasekharan respectively. They were very Innovative, Creative, Thoughtful, Meaningful, Artistic Pendants - an Apt Offering to the Spiritual Couple who were great devotees of Lord Muruga. He felt that it was a Great Bhaagyam indeed to design for Appa & Amma on this Sacred Occasion.

Aparna of the Mylapore Trio did All arrangements for the Historic Event i.e., Kanakabhishekam, Poojas, Abhishekams, Archanais, Naivedhyams, Annadhanams at Temples, Mutts, School, Old-age Home and at Sumukham House. She felt that it was a Historic Function and Once in A Life Time Opportunity, which is the Rarest of the Rare Event to Remember and Perform for Foster Parents, that too many decades after their demise.

KANAKABHISHEKAM was performed in the Year 2022 by the Mylapore Trio to the Deified Couple on Seven Auspicious Occasions as an "Aatma Nivedhanam".

The Mylapore Trio Conducted Special Abhishekams and Archanai to Small Silver Vigraham of Thiruthani Lord Murugan with Valli Deivayanai (exclusively bought for the occasion) on Kirthigai, Wednesday 9th November.

Abhishekam and Archanais were also Performed to the Small Silver Lotus Feet of Sumukhi & Rajasekharan. Abhishekam was done with Ganga Jhalam, Paal, Thayir, Panchamritham, Thean, Ilaneer, Sandhanam, Vibhuthi, Panneer.

Archani was Performed with Gold, Silver, Copper Pushpams (Lacquered) and Gold Coins by Chanting 108 Ashtothram on Sumukhi Rajasekharan and Nagammal Penned in Sanskrit and Tamizh by Amarnath based on the Emotional Experiences, exclusively for the occasion. It was a natural outburst from the bottom of his heart eulogising their Virtues & Greatness. The Verses reflected the Eternal Love, Adoration, Devotion and Gratitude of the Trio towards the Immortal Couple.

15 Day Celebration From Ammavasai to Pournami

A 15 daylong Celebration from 25th October to 8th November was organised in and around Mylapore by performing Abhishekams, Poojas, Annadhanams, at Navasakthi Pillayar Kovil, Luz Anjaneyar, Shankara Matam, Mahaperiyava Matam, Srinivasar, Kesavar, Madhavar Temples, Kapaleeswarar Temple, Valeeswarar Temple, Laksharchanai to Singaravelar, Saibaba Temple, Ramana Kendra, Gaudiya Mutt, Ramakrishna Mutt, Raghavendra Mutt and Mundakanni Amman Temple, Annadhaanam at Kapali Temple, Luz Anchaneyar, Saibaba Temple, Old age Home & Midday Meals at Lady Sivaswami Girls School. It was a Spiritual & Religious Trail during both sunny and rainy days, Following the Foot Prints of the Divine Couple who took the budding Trio siblings to all the above sacred places and thereby inculcated Spiritual Values in them. The Trio and others felt that the Drizzles and Rains were a great blessing showered by the Celestial Couple. Maha Skandha Shashti Pooja and Thirupugazh Paarayanam were conducted at Sumukham Mandapam on 2 Sundays which was followed by a Sumptuous Traditional Dinner.

Near and Dear including Relatives and friends of Sumuhki Rajasekharan and the Trio participated in the Poojas and Functions which lasted for a fortnight. Trio were glad to offer them with Vasthrams and Lord Murugar pictures. Dr.Vamsadhara (Sumukhi's Niece) actively participated for a week. Smt. Meenakshi Sundaram and Yogesh made their presence all through the Grand Celebration. Foundation Members Sisters Ravibala & Shivabala accompanied the Trio in the Spiritual Trail all along and showed their Solidarity. Smt. Bharathi made her presence on important days and few other Foundation Members joined hands on the memorable occasion. As a part of the Celebration, Get together and felicitations was arranged which was attended by Relatives, Friends, Kalakshetrians, Near and Dear including Smt. Vani Jairam.
