166th "Kala Poshakam" - Monthly Programme - Saturday, 23rd November, 2019.

The “Mylapore Trio” – Amarnath, Surendranath, Aparna, Secretary - Sugathan and Members of Sri Sumukhi Rajasekharan Memorial Foundation conducted the 166th “Kala Poshakam” - Monthly Concerts on Saturday, 23rd November, 2019 at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mini Hall, Mylapore, Chennai. It is a Free Platform offered to all Artists of Chennai and all over India.
The programme started with a Solo Carnatic Vocal Music Concert by Smt. Dr. Padma Murali, Disciple of Bombay Sisters. She was accompanied by Smt. Durga on Violin and on Mridangam by Shri. Rajesh. Smt. Padma rendered a very neat & perfect concert with some rare Krithis.
To commemorate the 94th Birthday of Swami Sri Sathya Sai Baba, scintillating Bhajans and Devational Music was rendered by Smt. Meenakshi Murali, Dr.Smt Radhika Vairavelavan, Smt. Deepika Karthik Kumar. It concluded with traditonal Arathi songs on Swami.
The Mylapore Trio emotionally shared their experiences about Swami’s medical miracles performed on their Beloved Foster Mother Sumukhi Amma during the terminal days. The whole place was devotionally electrified and emotionally charged during the Bhajans.

Registrations Open for 14th year “Visesha Kala Poshakam Utsav” - 2020.

On behalf of Sri Sumukhi Rajasekaran Memorial Foundation, we are
delighted to extend a FREE PLATFORM to Talented Artists
in Indian Classical Dances – Bharatanatyam / Kathak / Kuchipudi / Manipuri
/ Mohiniyattam / Odissi etc... (above 18 years of Age)
Solo / Duo / Group - from the large Indian Diaspora, to showcase
their skills in the 14th Year International Art Festival –
“Visesha Kala Poshakam Utsav”, which will be held from 1st to 3rd February, 2020,
(Evenings) at Narada Gana Sabha – Mini Hall (A/C), Alwarpet, Chennai,
during the hugely popular Music and Dance Season in Chennai. It aims to attract
endowed Artists from India and Abroad, specializing in Indian Classical Dances.
The Event promises an intellectual and spiritual experience for the
Participants and Spectators. All of these will happen in the temperate and cool
Chennai climate during the Season.
We,
the “Mylapore Trio” & Sugathan (Founders of SRMF – Kalakshetra
Alumni & Cultural Ambassadors of Mylapore) conduct “Visesha Kala Poshakam
Utsav” from our own hard earned resources (without any Sponsorship), in memory
of Our Foster Parents & Philanthropists Sri. Rajasekharan and Smt. Sumukhi
& Patron – Grand Mother Smt. Nagammal, to promote Artists and Art
Forms.
Travel,
Boarding & Lodging, Incidental & Miscellaneous Expenditure must be
borne by the Artists and Remuneration will not be given by the Foundation. If
the Terms are agreeable to the Artists, they are welcome to Apply.
Registrations from 1st November to 15th December, 2019.
Applications will be Reviewed and Finalized by the “Mylapore Trio” & Sugathan and the 6 Shortlisted Performers will alone
be intimated before 31st December, 2019. One-hour time slot will be allotted to
the selected Artists. For Dance - Solo / Duo / Group - Max.6
