Report of the 18th Session of “SUMUKHAIVA SADHAS”

A Pilgrimage to Great Grand Golu at Temples - Concept, Creation and Execution by The Mylapore Trio and Sugathan and Organised along with Foundation Members. It was a Service & Dedication to God Almighty - A Great Bhagyam indeed

“The Mylapore Trio” Amarnath, Surendranath, Aparna, Sugathan and Members of Sri Sumukhi Rajasekharan Memorial Foundation conducted the 18th‘SUMUKHAIVA SADHAS’ – A Virtual Cultural Meet during this extraordinary pandemic situation and lockdown. It was a unique concept and a different conclave involving professionals of different genre. A platform was provided to a Speaker to talk on a subject of his/her choice or profession or expertise and the only criteria are, the topic must be correlated to culture and history. This was followed by an interesting  questionnaire session which leads to a good interaction. Every week audience learn a new subject enabling themselves to become more knowledge centric.

The 18th Session was conducted on Sunday, 1st November, 2020 from 4.00pm to 8.00pm. The Programme began with the Prayer on the Trio's Foster Parents Smt. Sumukhi and Shri. Rajasekharan and their Grand Mother Smt. Nagammal, written and sung by Smt. Revathy Sankkaran.

This week was a very important Sadhas in which the “Mylapore Trio” and Sugathan presented a bird’s eye view of the Historic Journey of their Magnificient Thematic Temple Golus. A spectacular story of 9 years signifying "Navarathri" from 2009 to 2017 at Mylapore, Triplicane, Madurai, Srirangam and 1000th Birth Anniversary of Shri Ramanujar at Sriperumbudur.

It consisted of 150 colourful photos which indicated the miles stones of Trio’s Golu Legacy for nearly a Decade in Temples. It was another miles stone in their Golu History of several decades. Amarnath, Surendranath, Aparna, Sugathan narrated their divine experiences in conceptualising, creating and executing of Extravagant Thematic Golus in Temples. They used to start their work 4 months ahead from the scratch viz., selecting themes, stories, concepts, creating artistic designs, sketches, colours, planning structures, engineering designs and dimensions, conceptualizing thematic dolls with specifications with minute details. After these preliminary work at home, the real task of putting up huge Golus take place at the venue which is a marathon work coordinating all the groups and segments.

Then finally the Great Grand Golu which was witnessed by lakhs and lakhs of devotees in all the Temples. It was a divine spectacular feast for one and all to have a darshan of their beloved Gods so beautifully decorated. Many people learnt many things viz., new stories, puranas, culture, history, tradition, values, art appreciation, grandeur, bhakthi, philosophy, religion, aesthetics, engineering skills, dance, music, culture, etc.

It was a great blessing from lakhs of devotees to the Trio and Sugathan and members who had been volunteering in crowd management, arrangement of dolls, coordinating things, venue management etc. for everybody it was a great Bhaagyam to serve The God and his Devotees. Gayatri, Bharathi, Vamsadhara, Thirumalai and many more members happily joined us in this sacred endeavour.

The entire lecture on Thematic Golu was very interesting, narrative, descriptive and elaboration nature. The whole programme was very divine and sacred. It was for the first time the Sadhas took place for solid 4 hours. The online Audience were really amazed to learn the rich experience of the Trio in the field of Golu and wanted the whole history to be documented for the benefit of the future generation.

As per the diktat of the Foundation, all the participants were in Red, Green and Yellow Attire.

The Programme ended with a happy note to meet again next week with a different Speaker and a Topic.
