Report of the 1st Session of “SUMUKHAIVA SADHAS”

The Mylapore Trio, Sugathan and Members of Sri Sumukhi Rajasekharan Memorial Foundation began a new chapter by conducting the 1st ‘SUMUKHAIVA SADHAS’ – A Virtual Cultural Meet during this extraordinary pandemic situation and lockdown. It was a unique concept and a different conclave involving professionals of different genre. The congregation consisted of a Professor, Art Director, Chartered Accountants, Ph.D Research Scholar, Retd. Principal, P.G Teachers, Dancers, Musicians and Members. BIRDS OF “DIFFERENT FEATHERS’’ FLOCKED TOGETHER.

A platform was provided to a speaker to talk on a subject of his choice or profession or expertise followed by a questionnaire session. After a gap of 4 standstill months, this new concept of an Intellectual Meet through online ‘THREADING VARIOUS FLOWERS OF DIFFERENT NATURE’ was accomplished overnight. THE COMMON THREAD WAS THE FOUNDATION WHICH BINDS ONE AND ALL.

The First Session was conducted on Sunday, 5th July, 2020 from 3.30pm to 5.30pm. The programme began with a prayer on the Trio's Foster Parents Smt. Sumukhi and Shri. Rajasekharan and their Grand Mother Smt. Nagammal, written and sung by Smt. Revathy Sankkaran.

The Mylapore Trio welcomed the gathering and explained the new concept. They shared the experiences of their childhood with Sumukhi Amma and the way the cultural values were inculcated to them by their Foster Parents.

Shri. Karthik Veeramani SINGER – [Chartered Accountant] rendered a talk on ‘My Journey with Sumukhi Foundation’ as a young boy he was moulded and trained by our organisation in various aspects. Apart from music, he was exposed to various traditional and cultural features including poojas, kolam, thematic singing, golu etc in Our Foundation. He was conferred the Title ‘Sangeetha Yuva Bushan’ and also won the ‘Master Mylapore’ Title and Award form our organisation. His talk reverberated our nostalgic memories down the memory lane. He thanked the Trio from the bottom of his heart for all the cultural values and traditions inculcated to him.

The Second part of the Sadhas was ‘NATURO-UPAYA’ in which Shri. Sugathan – Secretary, who is also a Naturopath gave some Tips on natural remedies for ailments. As per the diktat of the Foundation, all the participants were in Traditional Attire with Blue as the colour code.

The Programme ended with a happy note to meet again next week with different speakers and a topic.
