MOTTAMAADI NILAA CUTCHERY & NILAA CHORU (12th Year) at “SRI SUMUKHAM” – Terrace.

To beat the summer heat, recently “The Mylapore Trio” - Amarnath, Surendranath, Aparna (Kalakshetra Alumni and Cultural Ambassadors of Mylapore) and Members of Sri Sumukhi Rajasekharan Memorial Foundation conducted a Very Cool Special Music Concert – “MOTTAMAADI NILAA CUTCHERY” and “NILAA CHORU”- Terrace Moonlight Concert & Moonlight Dinner, for the 12th year on the auspicious “Buddha Poornima”, Sunday, 15th May, 2022 at their residence “SRI SUMUKHAM” at R.A.Puram. The event was Conceptualised, Conducted and Hosted by the Mylapore Trio.

Around 70 people young and old gathered to be a part of this Concert. At the stroke of 6.15pm, 10 children and youth gave a Cultural Feast with Music and Dance and really Cutchery Kalai Kattiyadhu. The Terrace at the Sixth Floor was surrounded with concrete jungles on the one side and the Adyar forest on the other side. In this calm and collective atmosphere, the audience were breezed / fanned by nature’s pankas, sat spell bound for 3 hours inundated in nature. The chirr-chipping of the birds set the tune / shruthi for the melodious music. We could see the Sea Line in the horizon and the Kapali gopura dharisanam with illumination. The Full moon was playing hide and seek along with the ebb and flow of musical modulation

Sevikku Alitha Virunthukku piragu Vayitrukkum Eeyyapattathu. At the end of the Cutchery, all had “Nilaa Choru” which included Akkaravadisal, Puliyan Saadham, Nei Kaaikari Saadham, Thayir Saadham, Chottu Vathakuzhambhu, Urulai Kizhangu Curry, elumichanga Oorgaai, Urulaikizhangu Chips, Gulab Jamun etc. All these Food items were sponsored and organised by the Trio with enthusiasm.

The Parents appreciated the efforts of “The Trio” in inculcating cultural values to children through such innovative programs and thanked them for reviving age old customs that are becoming obsolete. The children opined that it was a different experience for them and all were presented in Traditional attire.

The Parents and Guests were overwhelmed with the Love, Care and the Hospitality extended by the Trio and felt that it was really a memorable evening with a new dimension altogether.
