SRI RAMANUJAR 1000 - (Dolls Exhibition) at SRIPERUMBUDUR
On the occasion of the 1000th Birth Anniversary of Sri Ramanujar, “The Mylapore Trio” – Surendranath, Amarnath, Aparna and Sugathan were suggested and requested to put up a thematic Golu on Sri Ramanuja at his Janmasthalam at Sriperumbudur by Smt. Thirumagal Additional Commissioner, Department of Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments, Government of Tamilnadu.
Like they did in other temples especially at Srirangam, here too, it was the brain child of the Mylapore Trio and Sugathan to conceive, create, design, execute and arrange golu in the form of dolls and pictures in 14 bays in two rows at the Janmasthalam (Birth place) of Sri Udayavar, opposite to the Adikesava Perumal Temple, Sriperumbudur.
The dolls included important forms of Lord Ramanujar i.e., Thaanaana Thirumeni, Thaanugantha Thirumeni, Thamarugantha Thirumeni with other forms too. Some important Perumals who played major roles and chiseled his life were also displayed like… Parthasarathy, Adikesavar, Varadarajar, Venkateswara, Sowmya Narayanar, Cheluva Narayana Swami, Sri Ranganathar etc… apart from this, his entire life history in Thanjavore painting style were displayed on the pillars. The dolls display is opened for public viewing from 5th to 20th April 2017.
It is a great bhaagyam… Kodi janma punniyam for us to have been chosen by Sri Swami Ethirajar to offer a divine and a historic golu at his lotus feet…. A once in a life-time opportunity for us…. As usual the Mylapore Trio did this golu without any commercial aspect and expectations. The HR & CE conducted and organized this event as a part of the Tamilnadu Govt’s Millennium Celebration of Saint Ramanujar’s birthday.
The Trio & Sugathan led a group of Foundation children and their parents to Sriperumbudur and had Darshananam of " Sri Aadhikesava Perumal & Ethirajavalli Thaayar & Sri Ramanujar"... They learnt the mythological importance of the temple and admired the sculptures and paintings. The group also visited the Golu at the Janmasthanam of the Saint Sri Ramanujar and were amazed to see the grandeur and richness.

1. - IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
The nature of the Festival will be of Two categories –
Competition & Participation (Tamizh Only)
TRADITIONAL ATTIRE (Dress Code of the Foundation)
Is mandatory for the Participants / Parents / Children & *Rasikas –
Guests / Invitees /
Relatives / Friends / Public etc.
during Competitions & Prize Distribution as mentioned below…
· Once Registered for a Competition, it will not be changed / altered /
cancelled.
· Only the Roll No. /
Name of the Participant must be
referred in all communications from now on.
· Participants must produce the HALL TICKET at the
time of Competition & during Prize Distribution.
· Reporting time is half-an-hour before each session and will be strictly
adhered to.
· Participants of Music Competitions –
Kids & Sub.Jr.-Sec. A & B must bring the list of Songs in a slip.
· Competitions cannot be witnessed by the Parents & Rasikas. (Except Maaruvedam & Thamizh Maalai).
· Participants must stay till the end of each session until the Results
are announced & the Results will not be informed over phone.
· Judge's decision is final and irrevocable; shall not be challenged in
any forum.
· Eligibility for Special Prize – *Conditions Apply.
· Each Performer will be given a Single Certificate mentioning All
Competitions / Participatory Event along with relevant Participation Medal /
Prize / Special Prize accordingly.
· Prize Distribution on Saturday, 24th June, 2017. (Evening) – TAG-P.S.-Dakshinamurthy Auditorium,
P. S. Hr. Sec. School Premises. Mylapore.
· Participants must come in person to receive the Certificate / Medal
/ Prize / Special Prize on Stage &
cannot claim it on a later date.
· Prize Distribution Schedule will be posted on Our Blog on 15th of June, 2017.
· Parents /
Representatives cannot receive them on the occasion.
· Organisers are not responsible for loss or theft of belongings and
valuables.
· Participants & Parents are required to maintain Discipline &
Cleanliness in the Venue.
· Event Dates & Venues are subject to change due to unavoidable
circumstances.
· The Institution which bags the “Rolling Trophy” will retain it for the
first One Month only.*
· Photography / Videography through Mobile / Tab / Camera / Handycam or
any other mode is strictly prohibited inside the Auditorium during Competitions
& Prize Distribution Function.
· Photograph will be posted on Our Blog / Facebook. Hard Copy will not be
given.
