The “Mylapore Trio” – Amarnath, Surendranath, Aparna, Secretary - Sugathan and Members of Sri Sumukhi Rajasekharan Memorial Foundation conducted the 168th “Kala Poshakam” - Monthly Concerts on Thursday, 30th January, 2020 at Narada Gana Sabha, Mini Hall, Chennai. It is a Free Platform offered to all Artists of Chennai and all over India.
To commemorate the event "Thyagarajar Aaradhanai" was conducted by rendering "Pancharatna Kritis" - on "Veena" by Smt. Jayalakshmi Sekhar accompanied by Neyvel. Shri. Skandasubramanian on Mridangam and Trichy Dr. Murali on Ghatam. The Kritis were rendered piously and mellifluously, which was really a Music to the ears. Jayalakshmi Sekhar's Guru Bhakthi and Devotion towards the art form was significant.
This was followed by a Bharatanatyam Duo by Smt. Varsha Akhouri (Kalakshetra Alumnus) and Smt. Aparna Jayaraman (Disciple of Dr. Radhika Vairavelavan) was laudable. The duo presented a praiseworthy Varnam "Chalamela", a choreography of Smt. Rukmni Devi Arundale.
