The “Mylapore Trio” – Amarnath,
Surendranath, Aparna, Secretary - Sugathan and Members of Sri Sumukhi
Rajasekharan Memorial Foundation conducted
the 149th “Kala Poshakam” - Monthly Concerts on Sunday, 24th June, 2018
at Narada Gana Sabha, Mini Hall, Chennai. It is a Free Platform offered
to all Artists of Chennai and all over India.
The First Slot of the evening was a Duo Bharatanatyam performance by Sanghamithra Suraj Prakash & Sauparnika Sabu from Thrissur & disciple of Guru. Shri. Shafeekudeen and Smt. Shabana Shafeekudeen. This was their Maiden Performance in Chennai. Both the dancers presented a very neat Bharathanatyam Repertoire. Their enthusiasm for the art form was remarkable.
The Second was a Solo Bharatanatyam recital by Kum. Madhumitha Sriram from Chennai, disciple of Guru. Shri. A. Lakshamanswamy. The dancer showcased a typical Vazhuvoor style of Bharathanatyam with a unique presentation on “Soorya Deva”.
The Third was a Bharatanatyam recital by Kum. Amrutha Varshini from Chennai, Disciple of Guru Smt. Anjana Anand. Amrutha Varshini is not only a dancer, she is a Violinist and Carnatic Vocalist, who presented a Violin Concert in our Foundation long back.
The Artists were presented with “Certificate of Appreciation” by the Trio and Sugathan.
