“The Mylapore Trio” - Surendranath, Amarnath, Aparna and Sugathan conceived, created and executed a Massive and Magnificent Thematic Golu for the Fourth time at Srirangam Temple, 2017, as an offering at the Lotus Feet of Goddess Ranganayaki Thaayar & Lord Sri Ranganathar. The Theme was “Bhakthiyum Mukthiyum SrimanNarayanane”, which signifies that Beginning and End is Lord Narayana Himself.
It was a RED LETTER DAY for Sugathan – A Dream Come True to Dance among Dolls of Divinity in Massive Golu Arangam in the Aayirankaal Mandapam at Srirangam Temple. A very rare oppurtunity which No Other Dancer or Artist could ever dream of in their lives. None of the other dancers have ever performed in front of the Great Grand Golu in Temple so far. On the day of VIJAYADASAMI - Vidhyarambam, Chi. Sugathan Mohandass presented a Divine Dance for the very apt songs “Sri Rangapura Vihara”, “Eanpalli Kondeer Ayyaa Sri Ranganathaa” and “Pralaya Payodhi…” Jayadevar’s Ashtapati. It was an Aatma Nivedanam to the Lord, amidst 1000s of Gods and Godesses who were silent rasikas to witness his performance and shower their grace on him at the Golu Mantapam.
His dance movements and gestures were replicating the dolls depicted in the golu, expressing various emotions and stories from Mythology and History. His Abhinayam and Bhaavam were Soul Stirring and in consonance with the Bhakthi Bhaava and Mukthi Bhaava in various forms, narrating the essence of the theme “Bhakthiyum Mukthiyum SrimanNarayanane”. With months of planning & preparation for this Golu and its Theme, Sugathan was made to be the Model for the “Nava Bhakthi” Dolls, from which the Doll maker made a replic, deriving the abhinayam and bhaavam along with his sublime emotions. Such was Sugathan’s involvement in this thematic golu which provided him the life time oppurtunity to start his Vidhyarambam in front of the Lord Narayana at the Celestial abode at the ThiruMaamani Mandapam and in front of Paramapadam and Padma Pushkarani. It was his previous Janma Punyam indeed…
