Memorable Moments - 14th Year “Bala Vidhwan Bhavani” Friday 1st January, 2016.

The Mylapore Trio – Amarnath, Surendranath, Aparna along with Sugathan (Trio’s Foster Son & Secretary of the Foundation) & Members of Sri Sumukhi Rajasekharan Memorial Foundation conducted the 14thBALA VIDHWAN BHAVANI” on Friday, 1st January, 2016 from 6.00am to 8.00am. Children, Elders and the Members of the Foundation, dressed up in South Indian Traditional Attire, participated in large numbers by enthusiastically singing Bhajans, Thirupaavai, Thiruvempaavai & Namavalis. Young girls & women performed Kummi led by “Nrithya Chinthamani” Smt. Gayatri around the Four Mada Streets of Kapali Temple. The only young male dancer Sugathan was the centrifugal point of these dances. The Mylapore Trio also explained the Children about the History of Mylapore and Kapaleeswarar temple and the importance of the sacred month of Marghazhi during the walk. “Sanathanadharma Samrakshini” Smt. Prema Krishnamurthi also blessed the children. Sarkaraipongal was distributed to one and all at the end. Then all of us had a Dharshanam of the Lord Kapaleeswarar and Goddess Karpagambal.

According to the “Mylapore Trio”, “Margazhi Procession with Bhakthi & Chillness was a unique and a divine experience for the younger generation. We not only follow the “Footsteps” of the Musical Legends, but also retrace their “Path” on the four Mada Streets of Mylapore in order to perpetuate their memory..... a thrilling & chilling experience ”. Some of the senior citizens & parents felt that it was a good attempt to start the New Year with an auspicious beginning, by perpetuating the age-old tradition, involving the children. Apart from the Foundation Children & Parents, children from local Music schools led by Smt. Visalakshi Ramanan and Smt. Rajeswari, along with the general public participated with great enthusiasm. Few kids were dressed up as Aandal, Radha, Krishna and seeing this many elders & devotees out of sheer Bhakti circumambulated and prostrated before the children….. A very touching moment indeed…

The Mylapore Trio said that it was the Fourteenth consecutive year that this spiritual walk is being organize. This is the One and Only Children’s Group which has been steadily and regularly performing for more than a decade as Bala Vidhwan - which has definitely created awareness among the public, especially a divine impact in the minds of the children. Their parents too were very enthusiastic to bring their wards early morning for the “Bhavani” (procession) to feel the divine bliss.
