CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION (14th Nov. 2017)

“The Mylapore Trio” Amarnath, Surendranath, Aparna and Sugathan along with the Members of Sri Sumukhi Rajasekharan Memorial Foundation Celebrated BalaDiwas – Children’s Day on 14th November, 2017 at Sri Venkatramana Primary School, Abhiramapuram, Chennai. We joined with the School Children, Teachers, Management and Parents in observing the memorable day. The Mylapore Trio, Sugathan were dressed up in Tricolor to suit the occasion and other members followed suit. The school children presented a Cultural Show with Speeches, Songs, Dances, Skit and Fancy Fete on Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru with great enthusiasm and joy.  Shri. Amarnath recalled the life of Chacha Nehru and the children rendered the Indian Pledge. Ms. Aparna stressed on the equality of genders and emphasized the importance of education. Shri. Surendranath said that all the children were to be honoured with a “Medal” as a mark of Children’s Day. He had specially designed a Logo to suit the occasion incorporating the important elements signifying the Day i.e., The National Flag, Picture of Nehru, the indispensable Rose and the description about the importance of the Day. This Logo along with Our Foundation Logos were stuck on either side of the Medals. Shri. Sugathan coordinated with the School Management to be a part of the Event.

One of our parents Shri. “Puyal” Ganesh, a professional Magician presented a Magic Show, which was very interesting and amazing to watch. Children were thrilled and excited to view the whole show. Finally the proud moment arrived. As per the wish and desire of The Mylapore Trio and Sugathan, more than 150 children were honoured with a “Gold Medal” by the Trio, Sugathan and Members. All the children were in the 9th cloud and felt that it was a great honour for them… which indeed was. The Management thanked the Mylapore Trio and Sugathan for being a part of the School Celebration and for honouring All the Children from 1st Std. to 5th Std. both in Tamil medium and English medium schools, irrespective of Class, Academics, Merit, Talent or Genders etc. It was for the first time that such a kind of honor is being given to each and every child in the school. With a note of immense satisfaction in creating History on a Historic Day, we remembered the words of Jawaharlal Nehru – The Light of Asia, who said “Children are the Future of India”… Thanks to Our Foster Father Shri. Rajasekharan - a Gandhian and a True Freedom Fighter for indoctrinating in us the Spirit of Nationalism and Thanks to Our Foster Mother Sumukhi for inculcating the importance of History in all of us, right from Our cradle days.
