The Mylapore Trio, Sugathan and members
made a short trip to few temples in and around Trichy on account of
Vaikunta Ekadasi. On Sunday boarded
Rockfort and reached Trichy next day morning. On Monday the group went
to Nerur, on the banks of river Cauvery, sprinkled the holy water and
then worshipped the Adishtanam of Sadasiva Brahmendrar. He was a great
Avadhoota Swamy who lived in the 18th century and performed many
miracles for the good of the society. He being a Siddha, attained
Samadhi simultaneously in five places all over India. It was a divine
experience for all of us to sit in meditation near the Samadhi in an
atmosphere of serenity & tranquility. The team then went to Karur
and worshipped Lord Kalyana Pasupatheeswarar and Goddesses Alankara
Valli and Soundharyanayaki it was beautiful temple with many sculptures
and carvings. After lunch we proceeded to Pudukkottai and the very
ancient temple of Araikasu Amman alias Brahadambal and Lord
Gokarneswrar. It is the family deity of the Rajas of Pudukkottai
Samasthanam. It is a cave temple carved out huge rocks with amazing
architecture and sculptures. From there we went to the famous
Bhuvaneswari Temple in Pudukkottai. It was very auspicious evening to
worship the Goddess, right at the time of Sandhya Kala Deeparathanai and
went back to Srirangam for the night stay.
The next day on Vaikunta Ekadasi, we had a holy bath at Kollidam River to our full contentment with nostalgic memories. At right time we had the Divine Darshan of Lord Ranganatha alias Nam Perumal in the Thirumamani Mandapam of the 1000 kaal Mandapam in the Bhooloka Vaikuntam. Our thoughts and memories were filled with emotions and sentiments to have His darshan at the same place where we had the blessings to put up Great Golus for last 4 years with pomp and splendor with utmost sanctity and divinity. Also worshipped Goddess Ranganayaki Thayar and other deities with lots of reminiscences. In the evening went for shopping to buy farm fresh vegetables in the evening market and boarded train to Madras in the night.
